| Applications to host a 2009 Tennis SA Sanctioned Tournament are now open!
Hosting tournaments for your members and the local and wider community can add significant benefits to your club and the local tennis community. Tournaments present a great way to raise funds for your club, highlight player development, provide social opportunities and increase volunteer numbers.
In 2008 Tennis SA will adopt a new approach to sanctioning tournaments. The intention is to make tournament sanctioning more appealing to affiliated bodies by simplifying the process and removing the costs to affiliated bodies/event organisers.

SOUTH AUSTRALIAN ATHLETES CAPTURE FIVE OF EIGHT NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS
| Australia’s most promising young tennis players converged on Brisbane to compete in the Optus 12s & 14s Winter National Championships, from 28 June - 4 July. South Australian athletes achieved fantastic results across both age groups for the boys’ and girls’ divisions, capturing a staggering five championship titles of a possible eight on offer. |

| Health-Partners City Tennis is underway at the recently re-developed Memorial Drive Tennis Centre. Social players can enter a team in either of the mixed competitions being conducted on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 7:00pm. Open to players of all ages and abilities, both male and female. |

WTC NIGHT SERIES HOSTING OPPORTUNITY
| WTC Night Series is a night competition sanctioned by Tennis SA. The night competition can comprise of any format with a minimum of 4 teams and can be played in any season. Hosting a WTC Night Series competition has numerous benefits for both the League Coordinator and the participant. WORLD TENNIS CHALLENGE
| Tennis SA and the state government announced today that world class tennis will continue to be hosted in Adelaide beyond the last international event scheduled for January 2008. In an incredible turn of events, Adelaide, which loses its ATP event at the conclusion of the 2008 event, has secured what is likely to be the biggest tennis event leading into the Australian Open. |
